Application of PVA water-soluble film

Polyvinyl alcohol made of water-soluble film is a unique material and is widely used in Europe, America, Japan and other countries. In recent years, after more than ten years of hard work, Chinese companies have made important progress in the manufacture of PVA water-soluble film, but the quality level of products given to customers has never reached the level of famous foreign manufacturers.

1. Basic requirements for high-quality PVA water-soluble film

High-quality PVA water-soluble film requires soluble in cold water to soluble in hot water to meet different application needs, and also needs to have excellent heat sealing and printability.

As a packaging material, PVA water-soluble film must meet the requirements of packaging agricultural chemicals, medicines, and sanitary chemicals (including: cosmetics); there are also marble countertop protective films and embroidery base materials, curved surface printing, and almost all the fields that you can think of that can be dissolved or washed away with water.

PVA water-soluble film can be soluble in cold water at about 5°C, to cold water resistant but soluble in hot water at about 60°C; PVA film with higher water resistance has also been developed.

The quality of PVA water-soluble film is evaluated, in addition to some basic qualities such as thickness, width, transparency, softness and other visual indicators, it is heavily dependent on downstream application areas.

2. Performance of PVA water-soluble film

■ Heat sealing performance

PVA water-soluble film with high heat sealing performance is used in the production and processing of various packaging bags.

Superior strength and elasticity, used as an ideal packaging film.

■ Adhesion

PVA water-soluble film can be pasted on non-woven fabrics; it can be pasted on paper.

■ Printability

High-definition printing is allowed using gravure printing machines.

The emergence of PVA water-soluble film has broken through the technical bottleneck of printing on curved surfaces and is used for curved surface printing.

■ Solvent resistance

PVA water-soluble film can resist most organic solvents, but can dissolve in water.

■ Film-forming property

Effectively applying waterproof coating on PVA water-soluble film can be temporarily waterproof.

As a binder coating.

■Antistatic property

PVA water-soluble film is hydrophilic, so it can better resist static electricity.

■Gas barrier performance

Because PVA water-soluble film is hydrophilic, it will form a barrier to oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide in a low humidity environment. This feature is also conducive to retaining fragrance, such as: scented laundry beads.

3. Application of PVA water-soluble film

■Packaging of powder chemicals

Powder pesticide packaging is directly put into the sprayer for water dissolution.

Quantitative packaging solves the problem of accurate measurement, saves labor intensity, and greatly improves the safety of operators.

Used to package various powder deodorants, disinfectants, detergents and concrete additives.

■Solvent resistance

PVA water-soluble film is used to package liquid chemicals and detergents. For example: common laundry beads.

■Curved surface printing of molded objects

Hydraulic printing technology allows various patterns to be printed on curved surfaces, which greatly facilitates the design of developers.

■ Wig and embroidery substrates

■ Laundry bags

By using laundry bags that can be dissolved in hot water, sheets and clothing can be washed without actual contact to reduce the risk of contamination or infection. Particularly suitable for disinfection and washing of hospital supplies, or washing of clothing in laundries in the event of an epidemic.

■ Agriculture

Ground film, greening film, afforestation, sowing, etc.

■ Golf course grass planting

Sprinkle grass seeds or grass seedlings on the PVA water-soluble film, and then spread the film on the golf course or slope, and the grass can grow evenly in their respective areas.

Using PVA water-soluble film as a sowing film to plant crops (radish, onion, carrot, etc.) can save seeds, increase seedling rate, and save labor
